Dendritic Opal

Dendrites are fern-like inclusions of iron, manganese, or other metallic oxides that create bold patterns within the gem. This opal variety is termed "dendritic" (aka Snow Bowl Opal) due to its pattern of dendrites. Dendritic opals are cut into slices to best display these stone's artful patterns. Each individual stone is unique in its patterns and colors. Usually these opals are white, yellow, blue, green or pink and show the black inclusions well.
